Where are you from?
I was born and raised in Malawi. For the past 6 years I have lived in New Mexico, Baltimore and now in Oxford.
When did you start writing?
I was about 6 or 7 when I first started to write short stories. At 13, I started writing poetry.
How did you publish your book?
Amazon has a site called CreateSpace. It’s free to self-publish with them and so that’s what I did. It's really easy. :)
How can we get you to come read at our school/ book club/ event?
Simple, email me (email@example.com) the deets and we can discuss it. I am a creative who is trying to make a living so don't be too surprised if I ask for an honorarium or for you to cover transport costs.
What inspires you?
I think love inspires me the most. The love I've received, the love I've outgrown, the love I've lost and the love I've transformed.
How do you get over writers' block?
I don't think there's a set way of getting out of the writers' block funk but when I am tired of not writing I just sit down and force myself to. I would definitely encourage you to walk around with a notebook or make use of your notes app. When you have an interesting thought jot it down, sometimes those things turn into poems.
What do you do for a living?
I write and sell merchandise but mostly go to school (still).
Why aren't your books available in my country?
If Amazon doesn't distribute it there then it's my job and since I'm a poor student it's quite difficult to do such. But if you want my book to come to your country it's quite simple. I'd truly love you forever if you managed to make this come true. If I had the money I'd have my books in every single country.
1. I can ship out individual orders.
2. Find a bookstore that you love and convince them to sell my book and I will be happy to send books their way if they cover the shipping fee and the discounted price for the books.
